The Door To Happiness

Happiness – is that not what we all want? We search for it, we try to buy it, we will go anywhere and do just about anything to get it. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could just find the key? I read somewhere, and I am sorry that I don’t remember where because it is really good, anyway, It said: There is no key to happiness. The door is always open. Isn’t that interesting, the door is always open. What a profound statement!

I would say the first thing we would have to do is decide what happiness is to each of us, personally. What is your idea of happiness? To some it is money, to others it is possessions, and still to others it is fame or prestige. I use to feel the same way, but then I found Jesus. Now my view of happiness is peace of mind through my salvation in Jesus Christ.

Now let’s go back to that “keyless” open door. The Bible says Jesus is the door, right? He is the door to the pasture for His sheep. We are His sheep and the pasture is heaven. In heaven we will have eternal life, and eternal life is, in essence, being in the presence of God forever. Now that is a perfect description of happiness! Forever in heaven with God! “You just can’t get no better then that!”

Father, We come to You today as the sheep of our Shepard, Jesus, who is the door to our salvation. We humbly thank You for the door to eternal life with You. We pray for all people, that they will come to Jesus and experience this happiness too. In Jesus’ name. Amen
