God Calls Us To Pray

1Thessalonians 5:17-18 Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

For quite a while now I have wanted to serve God as a prayer warrior, but I never felt adequate. I love talking to my Lord and often do it just like I am talking to you right now. But I still felt like I could do so much better if I knew the “right” way to pray. I have read several books on prayer, some were pretty good and some were way over my head. The best one I have found so far to recommend is Lord, Teach Me To Pray in 28 Days by Kay Arthur. She explains how we can use the Lords Prayer as sort of a template for our prayers.

Matthew 6:9-13 Therefore pray in this way: Our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts as we also forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
