Jesus Loves The Little Children

Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, Allow the little children to come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of Heaven.

I was thinking about how lucky the little children were who sat on Jesus’ lap. What a story to tell your grandchildren. “when I was your age, we walked a kazillion miles to see Jesus...” ;>)

But really, I was thinking about what Jesus said “for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven”. Meaning we have to have a childlike faith to get into heaven. Little children believe what they are told completely, they do not doubt, they just believe.

I look at my own grandchildren and see how strong their faith in Jesus is. My oldest granddaughter is 7 and when she prays for you – you have definitely been prayed for. She is totally focused and very sincere when she is talking to God. My youngest grandson is 9, he stands up and prays his little heart out in church, without fear, shame or embarrassment. They totally know that Jesus is God’s Son, that He loves them and He listens to them, they do not doubt!

Father, Please forgive our grown up doubts and help us to have a childlike faith again. We do believe that Jesus Christ is Your only Son. And, that You sent Him to earth to take our sins upon Himself and suffer our punishment. Father we know that there is no way to repay this debt - nor is it required, but we do humbly Thank You. In Jesus’ name. Amen
