Lonely Or Alone Time?
Matthew 14:23 And when He (Jesus) had sent the crowds away, He went up into a mountain apart to pray. And when evening had come, He was there alone.
Have you ever been lonely? I have, and it is not a very good feeling. But I have found that I can turn that lonely feeling into alone time with my Father in heaven. It is so nice to be able to just snuggle up with my Lord and enjoy His company. I do this either by reading my Bible or with prayer.
Sometimes when I am reading in my Bible, I can almost feel Jesus sitting there with me, helping me to understand what He wants me to get out of that particular scripture. It is like the light bulb goes on and I get it. I love that feeling!
Other times I like to curl up on the sofa and just talk with God. I talk over the concerns that are on my mind and it makes me feel so much better. But I think the best part about talking to God is being quiet and listening to what He wants me to hear, see or even just consider. He is so good!
Father, Thank You so much for being there for us when we are lonely or we just need someone to talk to. We pray for those who, like us are lonely, but they do not know You. Please touch their hearts with Your love, mercy and grace. In Jesus’ name. Amen
