Make A Joyful Noise
Psalms 100:1-5 A Psalm of praise. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. I love to sing and I do it quite often, when I am alone…I know that the Bible says “make a joyful noise” and I do, when I am alone. You would not call my singing anywhere near a joyful noise, maybe joyful howling or joyful screeching but definitely not anything tolerable to the human ear. My heart sings loudly but I have learned to sing very quietly in church, because I do love singing praises to my Lord and Savior. Did you realize that we are not the only ones singing praises to God? Listen to this earth and all that is in it > all of nature sings praises to our Father. The ocean waves crash against the rocks, the creek bubbles, the leaves dance joyfully as the wind whispers through the trees. The bird sings, the kitten purrs, the cows low and the mighty lion roars…all with praises to God in the highest. If we look and listen closely, we could see and hear that all of creation praises the Lord God Almighty in one way or another. Father, We praise Your name and all that You have created praises Your name. Thank You so much for giving us the sights and sounds that join with us in singing Your praises. In Jesus’ name. Amen
