The Passion Of The Christ
Romans 5:8 But God commends His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.
I just finished watching The Passion of The Christ again and WOW, I can’t even begin to find the words to describe how powerful and meaningful it is. To think that Jesus loved me enough to go through all of that excruciating pain, undeserved humiliation and tremendous suffering, I am speechless. I know that you think that I am never speechless, but I am now.
I don’t know if the English language or even the human language has the words to describe the emotion, guilt, pain, anguish, sorrow, unworthiness, regret, gratitude, devotion, thankfulness and love that I am feeling right now. How awesome is Jesus, He willingly gave His life for me and for you.
From what I have read in the Bible and in Roman history, I think that Mel Gibson did an extraordinary job of showing us the kind of torture that Jesus endured in our place, even before going to the cross. And then to have nails driven through His hands and feet, it is just too horrible to think about. All I can do is pray.
Father, We come before You tonight in sheer anguish, to think what Your Son - our Savior endured for us. But we also come in total awe, gratitude and love because the price of our wicked and evil sins, has been Paid-In-Full. We have been washed white as snow in the blood of Jesus and we are longing to spend eternity worshiping and praising You. Thank You precious sweet Jesus for Your complete love and devotion. In Jesus’ name. Amen
