Rich Man - Beggar

Luke 16:19-21 There was a certain rich man who was customarily clothed in purple and fine linen and making merry in luxury every day. And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, who was laid at his gate, full of sores and desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table. But even the dogs came and licked his sores.

The rich man was so self absorbed that did not even give a thought to Lazarus lying at his gate. He just went on about his business, making money and living the good life. He did not care about anyone but himself.

Lazarus, on the other hand was a beggar, he was unable to support himself any other way. There were even stray dogs licking his sores, how terrible. But he was also a God fearing man who loved his Lord.

Luke 16:22-23 And it happened that the beggar died and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom. The rich one also died and was buried. And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

Imagine – being carried to heaven by God’s angels, what a glorious feeling that will be. But, what if like the rich man, you lift Your eyes in hell, I can’t even comprehend how horrid that would be.

I am sure that you would much rather be like Lazarus then the rich man who ended up in hell. There is a way to be sure that will not happen to you. God is so good to us. He made sure that we could escape the torments of hell by receiving forgiveness for our sins through His Son Jesus Christ. Why don't you check out God's Plan of Salvation
