Simeon Looked Upon His Face

Luke 2:25 And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. And this man was just and devout, waiting for the Consolation of Israel. And the Holy Spirit was on him. And it happened to him, being instructed by the Holy Spirit, he was not to see death before he would see the Christ of the Lord. And he came by the Spirit into the temple. And as the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do according to the custom of the Law concerning Him, even he received Him in his arms and blessed God, and said, Lord, now You will let Your servant depart in peace, according to Your word. For my eyes have seen Your Salvation which You have prepared before the face of all the peoples, a light for revelation to the nations, and the glory of Your people Israel.

Simeon was a very lucky man, he got to look upon the face of The Christ of the Lord. Simeon was very devoted to God and served Him faithfully for many years. God told him that he would see the Messiah before he died and he did, this is yet another beautiful example of God’s unbreakable promise and a man’s strong faith. And his reward was awesome.

But that is also our reward if we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We will look upon His face when He calls us home. I am longing to see His face, kiss His feet and praise His name throughout eternity. Aren’t you?

Father, We come to You with grateful hearts and glad eyes, knowing that one day we will be looking upon the glorious face of Your Son and our Savior, Jesus Christ, in His name we pray. Amen
